Gary Craig EFT pageI read about this technique last year and visited the EFT downunder sitte.
I was very nervous about putting my name down for the upcoming course in Perth as:
1. It's a lot of money
2. Where am I going to be able to use it?
3. It's in Perth so I'm either going to have to drive down from the north side each morning (and back each night) or pay for accommodation for 4 nights ...can't afford that:( (I HATE driving in Perth! that's one of the troubles with living in a hick town...you know all the roads, where you're going and how to get there! LOL)
Anyway, I did it!!
signed up, paid my fees and asked my sister-in-law if I could stay with her for the 4 nights (north side of the city)
So, why am I telling you all this?? LOL
I dont know!!
It's not paranormal as such but is an alternative healing method.
What do you think of it?
Say what you think cos I'm going anyway..I'm fascinated by it:)

Also, forgot to say, I wont know anybody and, as a non-psychologist/non-business person I think I may be a BIG outsider! LOL
Maybe I should post this down in a reading page "am I doing the right thing?" but I'm going to do it anyway so what's the point of asking that?
Maybe I should make this rave into a blog!!

Lol Bluebell, I like how you argue with yourself!! I think it looks great, there must be a big reason for deciding to go

Have fun and don't worry about anyone else who might be there.

There is a HUGE connection between the emotional and the physical. I think you're following your instincts and may just take off with this!
Another validation to me is that there is some inconvenience with your taking the class (in a big city, having to stay away from home). Seems to me when it's worth doing, there's always a challenge or two along the way.
So - be sure and let us know how it goes. It sounds fascinating!

That's wonderful. I can't wait to hear what you learn. There, are a lot of places you can use this. Start with family, and as they get relief they will tell their friends etc.
Oh and Bluebell, you fit in where ever you want to go.

Nothing stands in your way.

Thanks, everybody!!
You've no idea how your enthusiasm has helped me
The closer it comes the more nervous I'm getting which is daft, I know.
Maybe it's not nerves about the course but more anticipation of what I'll do with it once I've learned??

I've been doing a lot of reading this last week and tthis morning I told John we'd do a session when he came home.
He's had a sore heel for the last few weeks.
Anyway, we tapped on "even though my heel is sore"
He said it had come down to a 1...on a scale of 1-10 (I'd forgotten to ask him what it was before we started:( )
Then I tapped on "even though I dont think this is going to work" No pain in his heel but he admitted to pain that he'd had on the ball of his foot because of the way he was walking to avoid the heel
Then we tapped on "even though I think Mary's a nutter and this isn't going to work" ..needless to say there were times he forgot to put the "I think" part in!!
I dont know what's happened, he's so difficult to get any aknowledgement from *sigh*
Anyway, I've broken the ice and tried it even if the first person I tried it on was probably the hardest person I could have picked. LOL

Update
Forgot to ask him this morning how it was but when he was home at unchtime he said he'd hardly noticed it this morning till he was fitting the trailer to the back of the truck and it wouldn't go on at first so he got on the spars and jumped on it...pain shot through his foot:(
Said it wasn't too bad now then ah hour later he came through and said that it was the best it's been for months.
I said "oh, so do you think EFT worked then?"
He laughed.
Hmmmmm
That's ma John!! LOL

Well, I went to the workshop last weekend and had a blast!!

d every minute!
So much information, easy to learn but the application is going to take a lot of practise.
I

it...I

the presenters' provocative technique because although it was provocative it was non-threatening, had us all in stitches for a good part of the day, as well as showing how this humour and provocation worked to bring out the real issues and the blocks.

My first question was going to be, "What does E F T stand for?" But I clicked on the link and read it for myself. For anyone reading this thread for the first time, it means Emotional Freedom Techniques.
Tony Robbins teaches something similar. It's not pressure points on our body, though. The idea is that our physiology reflects our emotional state. Therefore, if we change our posture, we can change the way we feel. For example, when we are depressed, we tend to hang our head, walk slower, look down toward the floor. If we deliberately lift our head up, look ahead instead of down, walk faster, and smile, we will snap ourselves out of depression. It works! Of course, you have to change your mental focus, too, but these techniques really help.

I couldn't agree more, lora!
When I see teenagers walking in that slouched "nobody

s me" way I want to tell them to lift their heads and look at the beautiful things surrounding them. I know there are more than just teenagers walk like that but it seems to be a fashion? (would that be the right word?)
EFT does more than just change our attitude at the moment though, it can actually heal old emotional wounds that we've been unconsciously carrying arund with us colouring everything we do:)

It was a special couple of days. Steve's an excellent presenter, has that impish smile which makes you hang on to every word in case you miss a witticism!
2nd half of Saturday was spent talking about values, identifying them and poutting them in the order we felt we had them.
Sunday was a bit more about values then about goal setting and achieving your goals
It really renewed my enthusiasm for tapping. Steve and David now do more SET (simple energy techniques) and PET (provocative...which Steve's brilliant at!!) now than EFT
They're going over to Europe and the UK soon...have I said that already? LOL

A Level 2 workshop is being held in Perth over a weekend this year!
Peter Graham is one of very few EFT masters and lives in Perth. He does levels 1, 2 & 3 workshops but usually does them over a few weeks in the evenings. Being 4+ hours away that makes it impossible for me to attend them.
I couldn't believe it when I opened his newsletter last week to find that he was doing a weekend one!
Enrolled immediately so will be off to Perth for the last weekend of May.
The co-incidence or "manifestation" is; that same afternoon I had been talking to a friend about whether I wanted to enroll in Steve and David's workshop in August...great workshops but no recognition or whether just to go on as I am doing the odd bit of tapping now and again.
That question was answered as soon as I opened Peter's email

Thanks, Sarah and Aloha

I'm really looking forward to it and have got back into 'tapping' regularly.
At the moment I'm trying Gary Craig's tip for weight loss using the statement "even though my ideal weight is ... I weigh ...and am fit & healthy" Then do 3 shortcut rounds using "I am..."
I've lost 2 K's this week without dieting!
Another thing I started on last night is tapping on not liking certain 'healthy' foods
I hate the burst of acid you get with the sweetness when you bite into an apple so yesterday I tried it out. By the end of the apple..the sourest part, I was enjoying it.
Also plain yoghurt-had my cereal with chopped fruit topped with plain yoghurt this morning (I decided to help the weight tapping! LOL). I took my first mouthful and went...yuk-similar initial sensation to when I was eating the apple. Tapped on not enjoying the flavour of plain yoghurt and was able to enjoy the rest of the bowl

ROFL I might end up a health freak!!
Maybe I'll have to tap on worrying about becoming a health freak

while exploring some 'aspects' this weekend I realised that although most of the time I am happy as I am and dont notice my weight when I see myself in a mirror, shop window, photograph etc I get very judgemental and feel really bad about what I've seen. Did some work on it at one stage of the weekend workshop and was delighted to be able to go and have a look at myself and accept what I saw. It's the strangest feeling - looking but not feeling.
In one of Gary Craig's DVD' where he's working with Vietnam Vets a Vet says to him that he had an empty feeling when he awoke the morning after a session with none of the feelings he'd been carting around with him over the years...I can really empathise with him now. My feeling was maybe not as dramatic but was still debilitating

Bluebell,
What a fantastic discovery and tool you have found! It
is our own reactions that hamper us most of the time, isn't it? When you think about it, as we are creators of our own realities -- what is reality except how we
feel about things?
I wonder if you will find yourself losing weight with even trying...
