Can you remember the first time you noticed or realized you had gifts? What are some of your earliest memories?

For me, I think I was about 3 or so and I would always tell my parents there was a railroad a few miles ahead. We would go on rides and go to places none of us had ever been to and I would always tell them this and always be right. There wouldn't be any signs, tracks or railroad poles to let you know it was around. They always were amazed at how I just knew.

I also remember "just knowing" things even before I knew what some things were that I never heard of or was taught or had seen. I'd feel like something would happen and it always came true also. In certain places I'd never been to before, I always felt like I was there before and love4.gifd it and would say I must have love4.gifd living here before this time yet had no clue about past lives and no one ever told me about them.

I would see orbs floating around my room and on my bedroom wall at night. I used to call them little dancing angels. angelfly.gif

I also would read people and know right off the bat if I liked them or if they were bad from my gut and always used my gut instincts even that young and still do.

I know there is alot more that I could post later but would love4.gif to hear of your stories. character71.gif

Well, when I was about 5 yrs old, I was playing in one of the bedrooms in front of the house. I distinctly heard someone call my name. I went out into the other room to ask my mom if she just called me. She said no. She and I were the only ones home at the time. I shrugged it off and thought, oh, god must have been calling me.

When I was a teenager there were strange things that happened at our house. My mom woke me up one night and asked if I was ok. She heard what sounded like someone walking through the house and tripping over the vacuum cleaner. ghost.gif One other time I tried to get into the house, unlocked the door, but it was deadbolted. No one was at home at the time. I broke a window to get into the house. When my parents got home (and somehow was not shot for breaking the window), I asked them why they bolted the door, to which they replied they hadn't. confused06.gif

Some weird things in my 20's. I worked nights and was sleeping one afternoon. I was half asleep and awake. I felt and pictured in my mind a dark presence come through my bedroom window, swirl above my bed and wrapped around my neck. I tried to yell out for help, but nothing would come out. I forced myself awake and saw the "thing" fly out the window.

Most recently (a couple of months ago), we had a family gathering at my grandfathers. My grandmother died 3 yrs ago. My youngest daughter (just turned a yr!) was playing on the floor. I was sitting in a chair next to her and I saw a bubble with gold in the center that light reflected off of, swoop in front of me, down to where my daughter was. I just immediately knew it was my grandma. (I even said "hi")

Well look at me gab, gab, gab. And I didn't think I would have anything to share. happyteeth.gif

wow.gif great stories! That must have been so amazing to see that golden orb! I saw a pic from another investigator and it was a daytime photo at a fresh grave and had a big orb that looked like it had a golden halo around it. I never seen anything like it and it was beautiful.

Oh, when I can think more after it gets more quiet, I'll write some more too!

love4.gif hearing everyone's stories!
AuntMama
The first thing I can remember is when I was about 5, I woke and saw a large black woman sitting beside my bed. I was so scared I covered my head with the blanket and waited a minute and peeked out and no one was there.

I'm not sure when I started doing this but I can remember as far back as 7 years old, massaging my dad's back and sending healing energy into him. I also visualized taking his pain from his body into mine and then God took care of it from there.

I'm not sure if this one was a dream or real, it was very real to me, at either 5 or 7, I saw a UFO coming toward me and my mom and dad and at least one of my uncles.

My grandmother died when I was 9 and within a year or two I saw her in my bedroom, standing at my closet door.

What a fun childhood! 10.gif
Jace
Let's see if I can remember that far back lol. My child hood has been quite a mystery to me but I've been remembering more and more. I don't know the age I was when I first started having experiences but I was very young possibly still in my crib.

I remember there was a rocking chair in my room when I was very small that would rock on it's own. I mean it would really get going as if someone was sitting it in rocking away. I used call for my mother and it would stop. She said it was just my "eyes playing tricks on me" I remember sleeping a lot of nights in my sisters bed because I was just to frightened to sleep in my own bed. I wonder what else I saw?? As I got a little older I remember laying in my bed (bottom bunk I was moved in with my sister who slept on the top bunk) I heard music, I went to catholic school and was very religous as a child and I always thought the angels were singing me to sleep.

When I got a little older I think maybe I was 16. I worked as a hostess at a local restaurant. I had a jar full of change from the tips I used to get from the waitresses. Well one night while I was trying to sleep, I had all the cats in bed with me and the Jar slid across the table and cats scattered. Needless to say at 16 I went to mothers room begging to allow me to sleep with her. After begging for what seemed like forever I was finally allowed to sleep with her. I felt a little safer but not much.

A few years later I moved out of Mom's home and in with my then boyfriend. His father had died a few years before from lung cancer. I used to be able to hear him walk up and down the stairs to the basement apartment that I rented from his mother. He would also flush the upstairs toilet and make noises that I could only hear. It sounded like he was bouncing a ball letting it come to a stop and then start over. This happened almost every night when I tried to sleep. He also would make smells of his favorite soap, Irish Spring I believe lol. And once I smelled roses. The smells were in small area of the house and there was nothing around that could have emitted them. Durring this time I used to play a lot of cards. We used to draw from the deck to see who got the lowest card to deal first. About 80% of the time I could draw a 2 just by the feel of the deck. I also noticed that if I wished hard enough that sometimes I would get what I wanted. Not exactly the way I wanted but close enough.

LoL I got more after that but then it would be my whole history not when I noticed.

This was fun thanks!!!

Jace, I know what you mean about your mom telling you "it was just your eyes playing tricks on you". That brought back memories, I haven't heard someone tell me that in years. I think that was my mom's favorite way of calming me.
Texana
I always hated those pesky aliens hovering over my crib. If I was able to scream for my sister in the next bed to look at them she would just tell me to go to sleep. They kept coming in through the window traveling on a light outside. Silver skeletons.

outtahere.gif Where do I start? haha.gif

The first time I thought I might be differant started with the dream. I was, gosh, Im guessing 5ish. Not sure on this age either.

OK in all honesty, I dont know if this was dream or real. Ill tell it as I remember it and I have never forgotten it either!

I woke in bed, to the sound of strong purring (my dad dont like cats, we didnt have one) and what seemed like a bunch of little people dancing on my bedroom floor. I became scared and got up out of bed and ran for the door, where I felt like I was shoved back by an invisible force, and I heard the words "your not going anywhere". At the time I thought I was pushed, but now I realize I hit an invisible wall and just kinda bounced back. I crawled back in bed, I was kinda scared but not crying or anything. I then realized it was a lion at the foot of my bed, making all the purring like racket. (I remeber the swish of his tail!) It gets mucked up after that. If felt very real.

I also saw the balls of light in my bedroom as a small girl. They would dance for me, and when I asked them to spin they would do that too. I watched them alot and have very spicific, and fond memories of them. That I Have met other people that have expierances the same is outstanding!

One day I was coming home from school and saw my neighbor standing in her window. I waved, she just kinda stood there.. Later on that day My dad told me she had died a couple days before that.

I also saw the family dog, Buffy, after she passed away. I didnt understand that she was dead and I just kinda said BUFFY! and went to reach for her, and my hands went right thru her and she disappeared..

Gosh a know theres more, but at the moment Im drawing a blank. LOL. So Ill get back to ya.

Oh and Texana! yikes.gif I sometimes wonder if thats where my childhood sleepwalking incidents came from!
Adrienne
As you know, I have posted about the haunted house that I grew up in. The first memory I have of anything odd though, was when heads/faces used to come through my closed bedroom door and look at me. I wasn't ever scared, just puzzled as to how they did this. The faces would kind of look around my room as if trying to locate something then go back through the door again.
Idlewild
Adrienne, your story reminds me of something that happened to my cousin. (Their trailer was VERY haunted). She remembers being in bed and from the top corner of the door, she saw a floating head hovering there. She said he looked like the Kentucky Fried Chicken man. 10.gif

I wasn't interested in the Paranormal until my early teens, when I decided I was interested in divination. Although, when I think back now, I'm sure a childhood experience was relevant.

I remember being very young and in bed unable to sleep because lots of faces in my head were looking at me and sussing me out. They were discussing me and having a nosey, but obviously it was quite weird and made me shut my eyes really tight until they went. I think I was about 5 years old.
Poohbear
Wow, what fascinating stories everyone!

My experiences started very young as well. I have really just started to get interested in the paranormal in the past few years though. I remember seeing people and hearing people talking in my head. Once I even had a lady (spirit) talk to me when I was walking past a graveyard. I have seen a few ghosts as well, some that I knew and some that I didn't.

I heard that quote quite often growing up. When I persisted she would say "If you stare at something long enough, of course it's going to appear that it's moving." "Your eyes are just paying tricks on you." I never accepted that. I was a very strong-willed child and still am. smile.gif

I agree great stories!! I can't wait to read about more!!! I posted another experience under Paranormal Stories/incidents. The Cabin on Wolf Lake

I also remember when I was about 16 at the same time of the Jar of change moving across my table I tried my hand at auto-writing. I don't know where the idea came from as I have just recently heard of it. What I did was put a pen and paper in my room and asked for a message then left the room. Nothing happened, then I decided to sit in there and ask that they use my hand. I got a name but I don't remember what it was, I think it was Kyle or something similar. I never tried since. But maybe I should try again and see what happens.

Thanks for reading hug.gif

I never see anything like all of you. Not very often anyway. Ghostwise, I've only seen two spirits on the other side of French doors; both at two different houses my sister lived in. And, of course, when I was seven years old I saw "Patrick" fixing the covers at the foot of the bed.

Whoever the heck he is, I still don't know. 47.gif I doubt I ever will. He's such a silent fellow.

omg1.gif do I know what you're talking about. For me it began when writing my book late at night. I would be in "the zone" and that's when the chattering will begin. I call it "the party." Sounds like a party in the next room. Lots of people talking. I think it's just hearing the spirit world.
AuntMama
It's ironic that you mention the talking now. Just recently, probably just in the last couple of weeks, I have started to hear people talking. It sounds like I'm hearing a little bit of someone else's conversation, but I don't always hear both parts. Sometimes it's just one person's voice. But they aren't talking to me, at least it doesn't seem like they are. And it doesn't last very long. It actually seems like I'm hearing a conversation that is happening somewhere else, by other people that are still alive, not by spirits, but I can't be sure.

My first experience was when I was about 3 1/2 years old - or so the story goes.

My grandmother was hospitalized - very ill. My oldest sister was babysitting me while my parents went to see her.

We were sitting on the couch looking out the front window as I was anxious for Mommy to come home. Directly across from our house was a huge field...then a hill, then railroad tracks.

I said "Look, there goes Grandma walking with Jesus" very seriously. My sister scolded me and said to stop telling stories. I was exasperated because she couldn't see it.

A little while later, my parents came home to tell us that Grandma had passed.

My sister said she was quite spooked by me for quite a while after that ghost.gif

I don't remember how old I was, but I can remember covering my head up so that I couldn't see anything, and it would still be there. I was always told I was different by family. It's like I would just know. I thought I was going crazy. Before I was even a teenager, I was trying to leave my body and fly,I could see tree tops, bodies of water, I had no idea what I was doing, just something to keep trying..LOL Sometimes if I wanted to see where someone was, I would close my eyes and think and think, sometimes it would take a long time, then an image would pop in my head. Really, there wasn't much for kids to do in those days.
Then I had the old house down the road spirit that scared the heck out of me one evening, that really woke me up. I started reading a book that I think came from my mom. I believe her to have an advisor at that time, and she told her stuff. So I think that's how I ended up with that, but it had disappeared over the years. Back then there was no one to teach you anything and this was taboo.

When I was 5 I walked into the living room and my parents were watching on the news about a plane crash. I said why are they still showing this, it happened last week? They said "No it happened earlier today" so I went on to describe in detail the type of plane that crashed, where it crashed, and the reason the engines failed. They hadn't said any of that on the news yet but turns out I was right on all accounts.

It was weird for me because I could see in my mind what the plane did on the way down and I think I felt the panic and hopelessness of some people but at 5 I just felt really confused by this. Plus my parents got sort of freaked out and didn't know what to say which was their usual reaction when I'd come up with something psychic or strange like that.

I also asked my Mom when I was four "Mom, do you remember me from before, like when I was an old man?" - I'm suprised she didn't pass out! Everyone just thought I was crazy I guess LOL

The first real time I remember something strange that I did or realized was a predicton. It was weird...the first time I had predicted something and after that was when I started doing it alot more and soon it was just dejavu all the time. I have dreams of the future alot and they always come true..when I was little I also experienced ghosts and could communicate with them though they scared me to death and I didn't use it. I still can do everything I could then. meditate.gif

Not a lot happened to me in my childhood (at least not that I remember), but when I was a teenager all kinds of things started happening.

I never saw ghosts but I heard them and felt them. I had a really powerful supernatural experience that I think was God where my life was saved.

Once I heard footsteps coming to the bathroom I was in and then they knocked on the door, but nobody was actually there (I opened the door pretty fast but nobody was there).

I am pretty sure there were 2 spirits in my Moms' house I lived in as a teenager, one in the basement and one in the front hall. You could hear one walking on the stairs a lot at night. We were all used to it but one of my friends was so scared she wanted to leave.

I also started getting premonitions as a teenager, and just picking up on things about people and empathy started then.

I started getting the healing stuff in my 20's (when I was praying for people I got health information about them).

Yep Auntmama, same here. Its like a group of people talking or just two people and never to me. I know its no one in my house or anyone outside and whenever I say to please stop, it does.

Very interesting reading all of your stories!

My experiences also started in childhood. I remember being very young (say between the ages of 5 and 10) and at night I would wake up and see shapes on my ceiling while lying in bed. Sometimes they would form letters and sometimes just shapes. It frightened me so I would put the sheets over my head and wait a few minutes and then look again and they would still be there. I had a nightlight in my room so I could clearly see the shapes. They looked like they were in 3D. After a while I would give up and go back to sleep. I also would hear in the very early morning hours after the sun rose, like a ping pong ball bouncing on my window sill but I would look and there was nothing there. I also had alot of imaginary friends who I now think were spirits or angels playing with me. One time I was sick and was staying home from school and my dad was at work and my mother drove my sisters to school so I was home alone in bed. I was fully awake though and I heard footsteps very clearly coming down the hall approaching my bedroom. I got so scared that I locked my bedroom door. I kept hearing them though. Then they stopped at my door and "something" knocked very clearly on my door about 3 or 4 times. I got so scared that I actually opened my window and vowed taht I would jump out if that door knob started turning! when my mom got home, I told her that I thought someone was in the house and as I was telling her what happened, a bedroom door slammed shut and we all bolted out the door and got my dad at work and he came home and searched the house and couldn't find anything. After about the age of 10, all of those things seemed to have stopped.

After I left home, I was living in a house with 2 other girls and one night I woke up and for some reason sat straight up in bed and I looked at the floor and I saw white "things", not round orbs but "cloudy things", circling my bed. There were atleast 20 or more of them just circling my bed near the floor moving pretty quickly. I didn't get scared though. I kept rubbing my eyes because I thought I was seeing things but they were still there everytime I looked so I just layed back down and went to sleep.

I also hear voices in my head regularly ever since I can remember. Sounds like I am listening to the tv or a radio. I don't catch whole conversations- just snippets and they are not talking to me. I always thought I was crazy but after reading alot of your stories, I know what it is now.

I have dreams that come true. For about a year before 9/11 happened, I had nightmares atleast 2 times a week of planes crashing into buildings and also of war. These dreams really bothered me and I couldn't figure out why I was having them. After 9/11 happened I realized that I was seeing that. I didn't have the dreams anymore after 9/11 happened.

I have also met and talked to my deceased grandfather in my dreams and he has actually given me answers to problems I have had at the time.

Anyhow, there are many other things that have happened to me but I will stop now seeing as I have written a book! lol

I love4.gif meeting people that have seen the balls of light or "orbs"! I have seen them also, as a child on a regular basis and even as an adult! Theres something special about them, thats the truth!

Iv also heard the strange "TV or Radio like voices!" Sometimes they make perfect sense, other times they make no sense what so ever. I do try to log and wright down each new time I hear something so I dont forget. Its a helpful exercise to wright it all down.

The earliest that I can remember I think I was 4 or 5, I started hearing the whispering sounds. You couldn't make out what anyone was saying but you could hear the whispers. Then it progressed into hearing someone breathing in your ear at night, like someone was right in your face staring at you. Then I started catching shadows out of the corner of my eye.
I always remember having the most vivid dreams, as if they were real and then a few weeks later being somewhere or something happeing and thinking hey "i've been here before" or "hasn't this already happened". I would also have dreams a lot about being chased to the edge of a cliff or top of a building and falling and I would always wake up because it would feel like I was dropped into my bed.
I remember being older and the breathing in the ear stuff seemed to get worse. One night I was very tired and the breathing was getting on my nerves so I said "would you quit (bad word) breathing in my ear. It stopped and a few minutes later my bed shook. After that I just dealt with the breathing by wrapping my pillow around my ears when I went to sleep....(lol).
There was always this feeling of being watched to...I always knew when something was around because the hair on the back of my neck would stand on end.
My mom always said that it was my imagination. The conversation came up at my mom's not to long ago and my sister told my mom about the old lady that used to sit on the end of her bed every night. Now mom thinks were both crazy....lol. character71.gif

Wow, that sounds really interesting. Does your mom still live there?
RedSky
When I was little I would know things before they would happen. I can remember telling my Mom that certain people would be coming to visit and they would later show up.

The strongest thing I remember is when I was 15 I was at a cookout after a baseball game and everyone was sitting around talking about reading palms. I said I'd give it a try even though I didn't know anything about reading palms. A man I didn't know gave me his hand and as soon as I touched him I could sense all kinds of things which I started telling him. He and other people there said I was very accurate, it definitely scared me. I only told him good things, but I could tell his marriage was in trouble and I could 'see' an auto accident, which I did not tell him about.

Cool experiences everyone.

I don't know what happened to me first, but I was around the same age as everyone else, 5 ish.

I used to play by myself alot, only because I wanted to. I had an imaginary friend who was a witch. Now I never did see this friend, but I would pretend to ride a broom, and I would tell the wind to blow and it would blow. I would tell it to blow harder and it would blow harder.

I had dreams of floating, not flying, and I think I may have actually floated irl. I would also stand at the top of the stairs and stand perfectly still and in my mind say I wanted to go to the next step. I would feel as if I were lifted, then feel solid ground again, open my eyes and I would be one or two steps down. I would do that until I was all the way down.

I swear also that my bed would float as well with me in it, because I would get motion sickness. Then I'd feel it thump to the floor.

I also think I was able to float in the living room, by lifting one leg in the air and the the other and just kind of hover but it would stop as soon as someone came close.

I had dreams and later they would actually happen, whether it was the next day or years later.

I would see things upstairs in my parent room when their door was open. Like the chair rolling across the floor and clothes flying too.

One night I was asleep and I saw a huge ball of fire form across the room while my eyes were still closed. Slowly it came towards me and as soon as it was near me I was able to open my eyes and saw it go through me and I could feel the heat. I tried to yell for my mom but I couldn't speak. I was forced to lie down and a shadow appeared over my head from out of the wall. It laughed at me. It had kinda messy air, red slitted eyes, and very pointy, sharp teeth. It said it was going to get me. then disappeared. I was able to scream and move after that.

I would also dream that there was something in the bathroom downstairs. I could see it. It said it would count down from ten and then it would come upstairs. Everytime it got to one, I would wake up in a cold sweat.

I used to talk to animals alot. sometimes i would ask butterflies to land on my fingers and they would. then I would tell them to fly off and they would, come back and they would.

One time my bird flew away, and everyday I would go to this little pond thing in someone's backyard. I believed it was magic. I would take the colored stones out and throw them back in and make wishes. I did that for my bird and a few days later he came back.

I don't think I have seen ghosts, but I can feel them. My intuition and empathy are fairly strong, just a matter if I listen or not.

I think that's it. :D

Wow, it's fun to read through this thread again. I know I posted my first experience somewhere around here but not sure where. Anyway, the first experience I can remember was after my grandma died. She had emphysema, so her breathing was labored. One night after she died, I heard her breathing and ran out to my living room, where it was coming from. I was so happy because I knew that she was there. I was so excited because she came to see me. When I told my family, I couldn't understand why they weren't happy, too. Nobody believed me. sad.gif I think I freaked them out a bit.

It's funny to see all the mentions of hearing the voices. I love4.gif that when I talk about the "party noise" that I hear sometimes at night that you guys know what I'm talking about! character71.gif
