Where can ghosts be found?

Ghosts have no physical boundaries. Logically, they can be anywhere. Usually, the theoretical reason they remain behind closely associates with where they can be found. Unfortunately, in most instances, you cannot begin to determine reason without finding them first. Here are some suggestions for finding a location. Although there is no scientific basis for suggesting such locations, historically, they have proven their worth.

The longevity of a location can help you find a ghost. Presumably, the older a place is, the longer the duration of time in which events, that could lead to a haunting, could have unfolded. Additionally, they can provide a familiar place to a ghost. Sometimes ghosts will return to what is familiar to them. As our world changes around them and things become less familiar, they may retreat to a place that has undergone little change. Historic buildings are notorious for strange goings on.

Battlefields, usually with a high number of deaths, also yield strong emotional attachments by the soldiers who died there. If you are willing to endure the elements, you will probably get good results here. The long history associated with battlefields will also work to your favor.

Legends and folklore usually have root in true events. In time, such events get distorted as they pass the lips of many storytellers. If you research the story and begin to ask questions of the people associated with it, you sometimes can get worthwhile results. Just don't believe everything you hear.

Hospitals, cemeteries and funeral homes all have a link to death. Many unaccepting spirits will reside in these places, unwilling to let go. I must admit, it would not be in your best interest to pursue hospitals and funeral homes in search of ghosts. They usually keep quiet about ghosts for professional reasons.

Places of tragedy can be a good lead for investigation. Ghosts sometimes remain in the areas in which they died. They have also been known to reenact their own deaths from time to time. Some ghost hunters have dubbed these residual hauntings. An event so tragic that it is forever burned into time and place, repeating the event over and over like a movie, without the presence of an actual spirit. (I do find this theory a hard pill to swallow, but I will retain an open mind.) I do believe that reenactments happen, but I find it difficult to accept that such an event is forever "burned" into the atmosphere. I am inclined to believe that a ghost is responsible.

Interesting about the reanactments, I too find this difficult to comprehend. Why would this happen anyway? Maybe it is meant to be a lesson to the next residents?

When my son, Austin, was a Boy Scout, his troup went to Vicksburg and saw the battlefields. He said he could see the soldiers re-enact the battle, but also there were ghosts who made eye contact and clung to the living. Because he could see them, they came to him.

He said after a bit, he had a whole entourage. He compared it to a time when he was in a special education class and the kids in this class were the ones who were emotionally disturbed. They had designated him as their leader and would follow him and ask him to speak to the teachers on their behalf. He 'graduated' from that class, and several of these kids asked him how he did it and aspired to graduate like Austin did. (He was dyslexic and should not have been there in the first place.)

Let me tell you, Austin is amazing.. Im blown away be the things you tell about him!
