Full Version: My daughter is seeing spirits....

For the past month or so, there have been several times that my daughter Sara (2 years old) has acted as though she can see someone that no one else can see.
She usually runs to me and covers her eyes and says "scared" and then looks at a certain spot in the room. Usually she will go between seeming scared/nervous to smiling at the entity and acting shy. Just the other day it was interesting to watch her track the movement of the spirit across the room.

I try to act casual about it, tell her it is ok, nothing to be afraid of.... and I ask her questions regarding what she is able to see-- but,she just turned 2 years old and is not able to communicate clearly yet.

I am curious to know who she is seeing. I can't really pick up on any feelings of who it might be.
If anyone has any thoughts on the identity of the spirit , I would love4.gif to hear them. cloud9.gif

I dont know who the spirit is, but I can relate to this situation ...

My grand-daughter showed signs of seeing spirits when she was around that age(2) and I know a apt. my DD and grand-daughter lived in did have a spirit of a man that passed there or on that land..he commited suicide, I say it was by him hanging himself, thats what i always seen from time to time anyways.
Well when my grand-daughter would play in her room she would come running out acting frustrated telling her mom to make that person leave her alone , it was kind of funny, cause she always seemed to think this "person" was a real person, yet there was no one there..LOL
Anyways it was clear the spirit was bothering her more and more, so I got fed-up and went there and had a nice little chat with this spirit, and just made it plan as day to stop doing this to my grand-daughter it was not going to be tollerated any more, and if he didnt stop I would be back to hash it out with him myself..I did kindly explain that his actions was scaring the child too.
After that the spirit was still there but he left them alone, and it was funny cause I always knew when the spirit was around, he wouldnt come too close to me, kind of kept away..LOL
Prolly thinks I am a mean person.. haha.gif

So maybe you could kindly explain to this spirit that it is bothering Sara and it is scaring her and you dont like her to be upset like that...I bet it would help control how she see's the spirit and such.

My kids were able to see them at that age also! I have a feeling if you show her some pictures right after she is seeing someone, she might be able to point the person out to you that way. I can't wait to hear more. wub.gif

I think Mouse's idea of showing Sara pictures is a great idea. Also, I feel that the scared/nervous feeling she may be showing is not necessarily a negative thing. I think that she may just be startled or even shy like you mentioned. How does she react to "real" people? I know that most two year olds have a wide range of reactions to different people that can change so much and so quickly depending on any number of different things.

It's hard at this age because you can't have a deep conversation about it with her, but I agree with everyone else that little ones see so much. Also, have you tried snapping a picture when this happens?

One more thing.........I can't believe that Sara is 2 years old!!! Wow, did that go fast! 6.gif

Thank you Mbojaest. That is a good idea. I have done this in the past with other occurences but never thought of it this time. Interesting story about your granddaughter too, that's cool. coool.gif

Thanks Mouse. I had not thought of doing this either. After one of these incidents, it would be interesting to see her reaction to photos of our deceased love4.gifd ones. cool.gif

Lifesajourney---that is true that her reaction could be shyness. Although she is not ordinarily shy there are some "real" people that she seems to be uncomfortable around and act shy or nervous...so I guess the same could apply to unfamiliar spirits as well.
I have not taken any photos at the time it happens.....I always think of it after the fact rolleyes.gif . But yes it would be interesting to see if anything showed up in a photo.
And yes, it is hard for me to believe she is 2 already as well. The time has flown by. She is almost all grown up! lol wub.gif

I have no idea who your spirit is, but for the past year or so my seven year old has been talking about seeing ghosts in our house. We have a history of paranormal activity here so it's possible. He talks about it in a really casual way. He's not scared at all.

That is cool. I know my sons have both either verbalized or acted as though they could see spirits---but at a younger age and didn't seem afraid at all. However as they get older(ages 3 and 5 now) it seems to happen less often. Hopefully your 7 year old can hang onto his gift. cloud9.gif

I've always believed that young children can communiate with the spirit world..
And if they have parents that encourage them instead of discouraging them..they can further develope their skills as they grow older..
Thanks so much for sharing your little ones experiences with us hun!
